MICHAEL HOWELL | Associate Attorney
Michael received a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Technology then a BSc (Hons) in Management Studies with a major in accounting from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. Michael subsequently attended the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, Florida where he received his Juris Doctor in April 2001. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in September 2001 and is a member of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and Florida Middle District Bankruptcy Court. He also received his Certificate in Legal Education (CLE) from the Norman Manley Law School in Kingston, Jamaica in May 2010, and was thus admitted to practice law in Jamaica in July 2010.

Before going to law school in 1998, Michael was employed full time in the financial industry both in Jamaica and the United States. Michael worked as a litigation associate for almost 5 years with two leading insurance defence law firms in the Tampa Bay area. During his tenure as an insurance defence attorney, he gained extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of litigation, research and writing, contract reading and interpretation, case management and budgeting. He has also negotiated settlement of numerous lawsuits through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Being an avid sportsman, Michael is a member of the Kingston Cricket Club where he formerly served on the managing committee. He is a current member of the Cricket Umpires Association of Central Florida and an active cricket umpire. Michael is also very civic minded and he has contributed many hours of volunteer service to the Bay Area Legal Services in the Tampa Bay area.

Michael currently focuses his practice in areas of litigation and conveyancing where he represents individuals, families and corporations.

KAMAREE SWEETLAND  | Associate Attorney

Miss Kamaree Sweetland operates from the firm's Mandeville and St. Elizabeth offices. Her practice covers a wide area and includes transactions for the sale and purchase of land, estates management, intellectual property, family law and civil and criminal litigation. She also has an avid interest in Taxation Law.

Kamaree is a graduate of the Norman Manley Law School and was called to the Jamaican Bar in November of 2011. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours from the University of the West Indies in History and Criminology and then went on to pursue her Bachelor of Laws degree also with Honours.

Kamaree is a member of the Rotaract Club of Kingston.
